LMOOMOW, an acronym for let me out of my own world, was a performance that dealt with the important phenomenon of fragmentation on the internet. The internet as we know it today undoubtedly supports access to knowledge and skills. Simultaneously, certain structures, especially on social media platforms, can result in ideological fragmentations, often referred to as “bubbles”. From a psychological perspective, this is problematic if such closed ideological groups replace the exchange with a more diverse society, and people are following absurd theories simply because they feel strength through a community doing the same.
In this performance, I analyzed high-rated comments on similar articles on different news platforms. Despite a few cases, it was astonishing how simple it is to predict which platform they came from. This also shows the absurdity that these platforms, no matter by which ideologies they are conquered, often do not really allow profound discussions. In most cases, it is a simple reproduction of already existing opinions, perfidious strengthening preexisting ideologies.
